Despite the heavily subsidized nature of the industry, and the consistent opposition from most people on the planet, the hunt and sale of whale, dolphin and porpoise continues in Japan. There are a few disturbing aspects to this story, not the least of which involves the sale of mercury-tainted products that pose a risk to human health.
