Those of you who read the previous blog about our Apprentice commencement may have noticed that the final paragraph noted that we are looking for new apprentices. Six of our apprentices are graduating, and the program is morphing to focus on marine science. Recruitment notices are in the three New Bedford High Schools and a press release has been issued. However, we’d like to encourage our blog readers to spread the word as well. We are looking for academically successful New Bedford students from economically challenged backgrounds who are going into 11th or 12th grade. They should have an interest in science and be able to work well with others. This new program will start in September.
