Audio tour of the “Lagoda” close at hand

The march to our first audio tour at the New Bedford Whaling Museum continues. Scattered fears that technology will take over, or ruin the experience of visiting the museum are occasionally uncovered, and dissipate. Will there still be space left for visitors to explore? Certainly. Visitors will not be required to listen, we promise, participation will be on a voluntary basis.

By Spring 2010 the pieces should be in place and our first visitor will take the Lagoda tour and our Jacobs Family Gallery Tour. Delivery of the tour will be available by download from our website to your own device, or by borrowing an mp3 player from the front desk.  We are quite confident that the experience will not mimic this video….

This project would not have gotten off the ground without the support of our partners at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park and the Melville Society Cultural Project.
